I was walking in one of the galleries at CSULB, and this painting stood out to me, its called Pattern Language and its a beautiful piece. I was looking at it closely and its very intriguing and intricate. When i looked up the artist Maureen Halligan on greaterlamfa.com, she was very interesting and her other works are beautiful as well. On the website under artist statement, she provides back story of this particular artwork; she states “The life of a space is a result of decisions and intentions that are fabricated by how the space is meant to exist, and it is in this intersection that i explore the language of these patterns”. The artist talks about how the colors are bold to represent memory and organic growth. This artwork has alot of meaning to it, its not only patterns, its something much greater than that, its Pattern Language.
